SENSISpec Tetracycline ELISA
Request InfoThe SENSISpec Tetracycline ELISA ia an immunoassay for the quantitative and sensitive screening of Tetracyclines. Since the ingestion of tetracyclines presents a potential risk to the consumer the maximum amount of tetracycline residues in food is regulated in most countries. The SENSISpec Tetracycline ELISA represents a highly sensitive detection system and is capable of the rapid quantification of tetracycline contaminations in meat, milk, milk powder, cheese, shrimps and honey (please refer to the appropriate technical bulletin for water samples). The test is a direct competitive ELISA based on the recognition of Tetracyclines by specific antibodies. Tetracycline, when present in a sample, competes with the conjugate to bind to the antibody sites on the microtiter plate. After an incubation, the plate is washed and a substrate solution is added producing a color signal. The color reaction is stopped after a specified time and the color is evaluated using an ELISA reader. The concentration of tetracyclines is indirectly proportional to the color intensity. The concentrations of the samples are determined by interpolation using the standard curve constructed with each run.
